Default Australian & New Zealand Babywearing Week

    Hello all Babywearers!

Is anyone doing anything for Babywearing week this year with your local group? I am going along to a couple of events locally - very excited!

So I thought I would start a thread on event ideas and listings! Please feel free to add your ideas and events so we can get some inspiration!

    Some Event Ideas:
    Babywearing walk or picnic
    Flash Mob
    Morning Tea
    Baby Market

    Anything else?

Babywearing week runs from 8 - 14th of October. You don't have to r a babywearing group as such, can be your local ABA etc and just get together to host an event with babywearing as a theme.

    Info is at http://www.babywearingweek.com.au

Sounds like fun! Nothing like looking at wraps and seeing what's to put on the ISO list lol

That's a huge membership in such a short time. I hope you win that pump for your ABA group

Babywearing groups should earn commissions on sales lol it's a great place to start to get a feel for wrapping as retail stores stock SSCs and you can generally try out before you buy. Whereas wraps have a higher initial learning curve that really can't be demo'd well in a retail environment (or even bought!)

I'm organising a picnic in the blue mountains for October 8 at 10 am. It's going to be held at Wentworth falls lake and we're going to raffle off a woven wrap for something a bit different. When i'm on the computer I'll put up the link to the Facebook events page.

A sticky with events would be great. I really want to look into babywearing for my next baby and would love to go to an event and check out the types in real life!

I had a carrier for DS but it was uncomfortable and hurt my back when he got bigger.

Sounds good Missy Mack and Tadpoles! I have asked the mods so hopefully it's changed!

Tadpoles it's the perfect week for you to find an event and try a carrier for you!!
