on Metformin XR 1500 per day (when I remember to take it!) and waiting for AF to start my 4th round of Clomid, 2nd time on 100mg. Will be overseas when I need a trigger shot so it will be fingers, toes but not legs crossed!!!

I was initially in the stronger Metformin but found I was running to the toilet nearly every hour after taking it!!! The XR has been better and I gradually built myself from 1-3 tabs per day. I still find though that if I eat something fatty or sugary, it will go straight through lol. Even can't tolerate a lot of caffeine so I guess that's a good thing. Haven't been so lucky with the weight loss but that may be because I don't always take them regularly oops!

My FS did say though that even losing 10% is good enough to almost eliminate PcOS symptoms and reduces the issues.
Your FS is right, I haven't ovulated in 18 months. Even on Metformin I just couldn't shift the weight, so I tried the 7 day kickstart program and lost 5kg, since then I've kept a steady pace and lost a total of 13.2kg and I've just had my first ovulation.

Same. After losing 10kg I ovulated on my own and got pregnant that cycle!

I haven't popped in here for a while but thought I would to agree - after losing about 12% of my weight I ovulated on my own and got my BFP - and I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow! I know I hated hearing about weight loss from my FS, especially when he complained one day that lots of people didn't take his advice, but now I'm sure it's the one thing that made the biggest difference. I think it's also had a big part to play in me avoiding gestational diabetes - I had borderline insulin resistance when I first saw the FS but have had normal results during pregnancy, so the benefits keep going.
I'm hoping to see some more BFPs in here soon!

I want this too. I don't want to be a high risk pregnancy when I get my BfP. I want to be able to have a natural birth as the thought of a c section freaks me out. I have insulin resistance so if I can at least reduce or get rid of it ill be happy :-)

We had just hit the 12 month mark. It took about three months to lose the weight on a really strict low carb diet designed by a dietician who was very familiar with pcos. It was horrid to start with but it did get easier, and I haven't needed to be as strict now (I've gained 8kg so far during pregnancy but lost a lot initially due to hyperemesis). I had done two rounds of clomid and one iui, but this was a happy natural surprise while my clinic was shut for Christmas/new year.

Wow that's great! You poor thing having hyperemesis .
Well after my trip I'm definitely going strict diet mode and may be acupuncture. Thanks for sharing your story. It's positive. Yay

You only need to make small changes ladies and the rewards are enormous. Take out the crap, chips chocolate etc. don't eat carbs - humans were not built to consume breads, pastas, etc so substitute. Limit your dairy intake and avoid sugars. Combine that with fresh fruit and veg and a 30 minute walk a day and you'll lose 10% in no time.

Good luck and I'm happy to be your cheer group. Better yet, lets have a weight loss challenge right here. Who's brave enough to divulge their weights? I'm happy to:
    27/6 - starting weight: 110.9kg
    7/9 - current weight: 97.7kg
    Total weight lost: 13.2kg
