Congratulations greenfairy, that's fantastic news! I'm so happy for you!

I'm two days behind you but caved in this morning and tested - BFN for me. I know there's a chance it was just too early but my gut feeling says I'm out of luck this cycle.

Hi ladies! Thought I would pop in and say hi.

We are new to the TTC club, although I have a beautiful 6yr old he was a pleasant surprise and from what I'm told- quite the miracle with PCOS and on contraception at the time. So now that we are consciously trying for a 2nd there is a whole new world of OPK's and charting and CM I never knew of.

Hoping you will all be able to put some concerns to rest. I have read of all the symptoms of PCOS, but other than a very weird looking ultra sound pic of my ovaries and the occasional sharp pain of a cyst rupturing I don't have any other symptoms. Yet for 6+ yrs it has been confirmed I have PCOS.

Do u ladies have other symptoms as described by the medical info? I am naively hoping our TTC journey won't be long and complicated if somehow my PCOS isn't that bad.. Can there be different levels of PCOS??

    xx

Welcome MadeWithLove, I hope your journey here is a short one. I have only recently been diagnosed with PCOS after being told a few years ago that I only had polycystic ovaries rather than the whole syndrome. All of my hormone tests were normal, I don't have excess body hair and am in the healthy BMI range. But the specialist gave me the full diagnosis because once I had been off the pill for a while my cycle was still anywhere from 30 to 48 days, blood tests showed one cycle ( the really long one) I didn't actually ovulate, and a glucose tolerance test showed mild insulin resistance ( this wasn't tested by the first doctor).
So my understanding is yes, there are different levels or symptoms for everyone, and some impact more on your ability to conceive than others. For me, my FS has said if the medication ensures i ovulate regularly we should have a good chance otherwise he will assume its any underlying problem with my tubes that couldnt be picked up by a saline hsg scan and we would need IVF. Have you had all the blood tests done, especially to see if you're ovulating? Good luck!

Thanks for your reply MissT! I haven't had any testing done. I did talk to my doc sometime and said we were going to start trying soon. He referred me straight to an FS. The fees were insane so we decided to give It a go and then in six months or so revisits the FS if we don't fall naturally.

Financially it seemed the best way to go and my DH is fairly optimistic/confident it will just happen so no need to be jumping to worst case scenario type action hormone treatments etc.

I am doing OPKs and charting my cycle in case we do end up seeing an FS I'm sure the first thing they will want is info on my history.

The thing I am struggling with the most is the lack of control. You take the vitamins you eat well you do what ur supposed to but ultimately it's in the hands of the gods and you cant do a thing about it. It's hard not to feel anxious every time I POAS and 'should' be ready to O but my body is not. Maybe it will come with time to relinquish control and go with the flow that my body decides.. But I'm not there yet.

We got everything in order.. Now we're ready for a baby.. But my body apparently is not yet. : /
