Default bleeding & s.ex after birth (sorry, tmi!)

So I am now just over 6 weeks post birth, and I still have been having some blood loss but it has faded mostly to that yellowish colour, with some occasional light pink blood. But yeatersay I had s.ex for the first time and the bleeding has started up again, dark red, and flow like a light period... Does anyone know whether this is normal or has had a similar experience? S.ex wasn't overly painful bt I do havesome stitches that still feel a bit tender.
Sorry if this has mistakes, I'm typing whilst breastfeeding, lol!

Yes, happened to me after the birth of DD1. Bleeding stopped for a week, DF and I DTD and I started bleeding again.
I never really found out what it was put I put it down to my period coincidentally returning.
