    Default Ovulating... cycles... ??? I dont understand it all!

    Hi all Might be a daft question, but can someone explain in lamens terms, the ovulation cycle? When is the ideal time to try and concieve?

    I never did look into or understand the stages of the cycle.

    Hey there,
    I'm in the same boat as you I have just started having a look online and have downloaded fertility friend app which you just put in your details and it tells you when you should be ovulating. From what I can see its about 1/2 way into your cycle. But like I said I have only just started researching as I've just come off the pill I never realised all the calculating you have to do!

    Oops I meant to put like 2 weeks in from ur period, I might be wrong though happy to be enlightened by some experts

    It depends on the person. My ovulation varies from cycle day 12 to 17 depending on the month. Sperm can live for a few days in your body so you are fertile from a few days before ovulation to possibly the day after (the egg can hang around for 12-24 hours).
