If she's your best friend, i'm sure she will really appreciate the effort to go.

Turning 30 is a milestone and i think a 1st birthday party pales in significance if she is your best friend. It's probably more that it may be difficult for you to get there will children, but you'll probably be really glad that you went if you go.

Friends are forever, you need to be there to celebrate their milestones as they are there to celebrate yours.

There is no question here for me, my friends 30th. If I was your friend and as close as you say you are, I would be really pis$ed that you chose a kids party over my 30th.

I'd go to the 30th alone and send hubby to the party with the kids, not sure I'd enjoy a 30th while chasing kids around a pub.

    Default BFF 30th Birthday Party or DD2s Friend's 1st Birthday ~ WWYD???

We are still very close, but obviously life has taken us in different directions. I don't think any less of her, she doesn't think any less of me.

They are not justifications, they are simple realities, which DH and I will overcome on the day. I have since spoken to her and have got a run down of the day and it sounds quite fun, DH and I will make the most of it with the girls...

    :-D
