Default 3 month old refusing bottle

DD is about 3 months and she is all of a sudden refusing her bottle. Formula, teat, temperature is the same as always, nothing has changed. She just screams and screams when I try to give it to her. She's only had about 350ml since 9.30pm last night and it's now 4pm. She's still having some wet Nappies but obviously not as often as if she were drinking properly. She's been sucking on her fist quite hard like she's hungry but won't have a bottle.

Any ideas or advice would be very much appreciated.

    Hi there

could she have a sore throat? I would give some panadol and then try a bottle 1/2 an hour later.

Try warm water instead. She may have a sore tummy.

Default 3 month old refusing bottle

I tried panadol about midday because she was so distressed but no luck. I put some teething gel on her gums not long ago because she was really trying to chew hard on her hand while screaming and she settled pretty quickly and has just taken a bottle no problems. I've checked her gums a few times today but I can't see or feel anything.

Try colder milk? It's a long shot but at one stage my DD only drank chilled or room temp formula.

    Teething can start at anytime.
My DS started at 4 months but no teeth till 6 months.
Glad you have an idea what was going on.

Thanks, she seems ok today. I looked in her mouth again today and the only place I can feel bumps and see a bit of white is right at the back up the top. Is it even possible for her to get those ones first? My others have only ever gotten front ones first.

DS didn't get his front ones first.
It wasn't the back ones but 2 or 3 from the front. Works his way forwards.
You may find that they go back up a few times before coming threw.
