Default Baby clothing sizes, what to get!

Im currently pregnant with my first, and am trying to get organised and buy some clothes before she comes home. My problem is i'm just not sure what sizes I should get and how many of each. I have some newborn and some 0-3 months, I feel like I should get some more newborn, but what if I have a big baby? How long with the newborn clothes fit her? I dont want to buy all newborn stuff just to have her grow out of them in 4 weeks time.

It sounds like you have got it covered. With both my children they were only in newborn for about a month and then went up to 0-3 or 000
I haven't bought much for this bub knowing that because they grow so fast :-)
DD was 3598kg and was 57cm!
DS was 3980kg and was 54cm
    If that helps :-)

My DD was 3.1kg and wore 0000 for about 2 months. The target 0000 terry suits fit but the Best and Less 0000 suits were huge and didn't fit til she was about 3-4 months old.

Both my bubs went straight into 000. Both over 4kgs
get yourself 4-6 0000 and 6-8 000 and you'll be right. You can always grab more if you need to when bub is here...good thing to get hubby to do whiles he off (if he is) get them involved and feel needed.

My DS was 3kg and 46cm, so he was in 00000's for a few weeks and then 0000's until he was 3 months old. I didn't have anything in 00000 and only a few 0000's so we had to do a quick shop when we brought him home at 5 days old. As long as you've got a few, it's not hard to grab some more if needed.

Find out what you weighed as a baby, generally (old wives tale) the first baby is close to same weight as mum was.
    7-9pd you will need 0000
5-7pd you will need 00000 in some occasions
Most babies over 9pd will barely fit in a 0000 onesie but will for about 2-3 weeks then will wear 000 but will fit into 0000 clothes for about a 4-6 weeks before they go into 000.
10pd babies straight into 000 won't even bother with 0000

This scares me! I was a 10 pound baby... I'm only buying 000 only at the moment because baby is already measuring big!! I might grab a couple of 0000 to take to the hospital just in case!

Thanks for your helpful advice, ladies

Thanks everyone for your advise, you've all been very helpful! I dont have a husband, or partner to help me with this, which is why I want to get organised before I give birth. I do however have family and friends who have all offered help who i'm sure will pick some things up for me if needed. I was 7 pd 4 born, babies father is an islander though, is a big guy and was a big baby, so I'm scared of giving birth to a giant! I think I'm probably covered though, thanks again!
