    Default Free Antenatal Classes Brisbane?

Does anyone know of any free antenatal classes in Brisbane?
My friend who had a baby 2 years ago said that she did hers at the mater and didn't pay however when I went to book at mater they told me it is $250 and that it might be claimable on private health. and my private health only rebates $20 per class!
We're really trying to cut costs so if I can't find a free one then I guess I'll just have to give it a miss entirely

Mine were free at NWPH, but that was a few years ago and you had to be a patient of a NW ob.

Your friend may have been a public patient. Can you find out if you are able to attend the public classes?

she was a private patient but because she had bupa cover apparently they cover the whole fee. so lucky her but I'll look into public..
I stupidly went into being a private patient due to having insurance (which i thought would actually cover something) and because my parents pressured me when we are in big financial troubles so everything has been really expensive :s

Sucks doesn't it. We pay so much in premiums but because of the preg planning and management fee we will probably have to go public, if we manage to get pregnant again.
