Exclamation **The ABA needs your support!**

I bumped into my CHN today who is also an LC and ABA volunteer. She had tears in her eyes when she told me all the backlash the ABA are receiving over the recent media events and that some volunteers feel very despondent. Apparently the ABA FB page has received many not-so-nice messages and there is nothing the volunteers can do.

I think it would be lovely if BF mummies (either now or previously or hope to be in the future) who have received support from the ABA post a note of gratitude on the ABA FB page. It doesn't take much and many of us has received invaluable information and encouragement that has helped us continue out BF journeys.

The LC today told me she knew of the LC in question and that she is a lovely woman who has spent tireless hours helping BF woman for many years. It's not fair that one off-the-cuff remark can seem to undo all of that hard work.

    Please support the ABA now!!

She's a lovely woman who compared formula feeding to AIDS and presented scaremongering statistics without the background on how those statistics occur? Yes, delightful.

I think the ABA is a fantastic resource for parents, but they obviously need to police how they're being represented better, hopefully this 'scandal' will push this to happen. Their primary focus should always be breast feeding education and support, not scaremongering as occasionally happens.

I will continue to use the ABA as my go to recommendation for breast feeding advice for parents. MANY organizations are let down by the poor judgements of individuals and they certainly don't need to be crucified for it.

I really don't want this thread to be about what the woman said, there's already a thread for that. This thread is to ask people who have had support from volunteers from the ABA over the years to simply drop a note on their FB page to say thank you. I think it's the least we can do, regardless of recent events.
