You've still got the 2nd test and well many fail the first test.

Really? In what way is it not pleasant? It's just low GI healthy food, I've done it twice now it really isn't that bad at all.

Jo7, I feel your pain, I failed my first and had my 2 hour test today. My levels were 10 so I'm not that hopeful about the results. My advice, don't go to work after the 2 hour one if you felt bad after the 1 hour one. I did try it and it was a stupid idea. I left again after half an hour.

    Good luck with it

Any low GI foods are ideal and recommended to eat (plenty out there). Any medium GI you eat in moderation. It's not as bad as it sounds at all. And as you eat 5-6 small meals a day you are never hungry.

OM, you obviously have experience with this. The diet doesn't look too bad to me, but I heard that the testing four times a day is a nightmare. People on GD forums have talked about sticking to the diet and the sugar levels go up anyway, and then eating a piece of cheesecake and the levels going down (sometimes). It just sounds like a situation where your heart is in your mouth four times every day hoping the sugar levels are right and you are not hurting your baby.

And is it just low GI, or is it also low carb? For example, chickpeas and brown rice.

    What's your experience?
