Sometimes, they just can not see. My friend was told at her NT scan that the us tech was 75% sure it was a girl and it was.
At our NT scan, the us tech asked DP and I if we were going to find out the sex, we are (hopefully) so she had a look around but just couldn't get on the right angle to see.
DP's good friends went in at 20 weeks and bub just wouldn't cooperate, so they had a surprise.
I think you should just be happy you are having a baby and got to see it again, gender or no.

Default 19 weeks scan rant! Warning!

I'd say from my experience they don't need to spend a long time finding out the sex, I have had three boys and it's quiet clear if you see a willy , I saw it before the technician and I found out at 13 weeks with my younger two boys.
It does sound like your more frustrated that it's a girl again and that you would have preferred 10 minutes Spent between the legs which is not what ultrasounds are for.
As you see if it's a willy it's clearly a willy all Be it some are harder to see but it's not that common these days for a stuff up.

You would have been so excited to find out and i can see how you must be annoyed and a bit disappointed which is fair enough.

I am sorry for some of the comments which i feel to be a bit harsh towads you...it is your opinion on your experience.

Pretend it didnt happen and go to your next scan with an open mind and speak up if you arent happy with something :-)

Thanks pp, I appreciate the fact that you have not judged my feelings in this. I don't think alot comments were constructive and don't understand y people need to be nasty when I was voicing my opinion. I am happy with whatever gender, yes a boy would have been nice but another girl would be lovely. I never had a sister so my daughter would have something special. And FYI I have had another scan today and due to a car accident I had last night which my 3yo DD was also in and I don't think you understand the fact that I am very grateful for what I have and the fact I am having another baby. I know some people think you should be grateful as other people can't have children but we would've liked one of each and I don't think I should apologize for that. We have other considerations like finances that will dictate how many children we can have so I don't think I should even have to justify why I feel like this to people who obviously don't get that I was just frustrated and was using my right to vent my feelings on a public forum and don't believe I should be shot down for them. It's not like I would terminate because i couldn't find out exactly what sex it is.

You posted a topic on a public forum wanting responses, people responded is that not what you wanted? You didn't like what they said, so they are shooting you down?

    Fair enough.

I totally understand where you're coming from. Finding out the gender was important for me and my DF too, for various reasons. I opted for a 4D gender scan at 17 weeks, and I'm glad I did too, as bubs had his legs crossed and it took 10mins of trying for her to get a decent picture to show us. I know I would never have got that level of effort at the morph scan, so for me it was the right decision.

I'm not saying I expect us techs to take that time, I know the morph scan is to gauge the growth and health of bubs, which is much more important, but I just wanted to say I understand your frustration, especially since its not an easy thing for you to just go get another scan.
    ((hugs))

Though my first scan the tech couldn't find my baby and asked me if I'd done a pregnancy test. Some people do not have good bedside manner. (She got someone else who found bub in 10 seconds)

At 20 weeks the sonographer was so good, explained everything she was doing and why and at the very end asked if we wanted to know the gender, said she may not be able to tell and that she wouldn't say anything if she wasn't sure but even then there's a chance its wrong. She had a look, bubby was In a good position though and she confidentially said she thinks she's a girl. (And she is)

But I appreciate also a tech not saying "hmm might be...."of course it might be. I'd rather not know if they aren't sure.

I agree though if it's really going to stress you I'd look into a 3d scan.

We just had our 20 week scan and the sonographer initially sounded quite unsure when she said she thought we had a little girl. near the end of the scan we asked her if she was sure enough for us to say its a girl and she put the probe back in the magic spot and showed us the there white lines and told us what they we're.
So maybe she knew it fairly sure but just didn't sound convincing.
