Default Baby sleeps so much better when out

My DD is 7 weeks old and we went out for lunch the first time at a cafe. We found that DD was sleeping longer and better in the cafe than at home. Usually DD wakes up 2-3 hours after feed but at the cafe she lasted for 4 hours. We went out today and again she slept for longer again in the pram and no kicking and screaming like she usually does at home.

I wonder is this common for baby to sleep better in a noisier environment?? At home we have the radio on most of the time for her but definitely does not work that well.

Yea some babies prefer the noise and bustle. Others sense mum is happier and then they relax too.

    Enjoy!

DD was the same at that age, except she only slept for 40min maximum at home during the day. Out in the pram I'd get 2-3 hrs! Maybe try a white noise CD at home, it works wonders for some babies!

My bubs is the opposite! She stayed awake for three hours in the shops the other day despite being ridiculously tired. Funny little creatures they are!

We also find that when visitors r over she sleeps better too. She definitely loves the noise. I will try the white noise cd and see if it works for her.

White noise didn't work maybe should tape the noise when I am down at the cafe?

Or she prefers to sleep in the pram??

It may be the 'cosyness' of the pram more than the noise?

One night our newborn was figitty and wouldn't sleep. We put on ocean noises and he literally dropped off to sleep. They do like noise, movement and cosiness.

My 1 month old is the same - I've put it down to the cosi-ness of his capsule.

....on bad nights I've thought about letting him sleep in it as he is awake every hour or two anyways (but wouldn't!)

You could try the app sleep machine - has white noise and ocean sounds!
