    Default Dicipline related question

What is your 16 month (or similar) old like when you go out/shopping/to others houses?

Do they stay close to you or do they run away?

Do they listen to you or do they touch everything?

She is older now but at that age, I wouldn't have been game to put her down, trolley or pram for my dd .. Run and touch girl here ..

Edit, at others houses it's hard, because they are out of their environment. She understood don't touch and we taught that with rewards. Bribery is ok in this house .. But that doesn't mean she always did as she was asked. I don't think any child that age does.

I kept my elder two in a pram until 2.5 by younger one is almost 2 and thinks he is 5 , I let him walk sometimes but I bribe him with a treat if he stays in his pram.
Just less stressful I think and I have never had a child tantrum at the shops they have all been great :-)

At 16 months all 5 of mine would run at least some of the time, if they were allowed to walk. The touch everything because that is how they learn, if i didn't want them to touch i keep them containted in a pram, trolley etc...
It's not naughty at this age as they don't really understand when it is ok to do these things and when it not.

    Default Dicipline related question

DS is pretty good, I keep him in the pram if we are at the shopping centre for a while and at about 18 months started letting him out on the way back to the car then gradually longer as he got older, the rules are he has to hold my hand( or who ever we were with ) or hold his pram if he didn't then he had to go straight back in ( only had to do this a few times) now at 22 months he is pretty good and if it's a quick shop we don't take the pram at all
All my friends have kids so when we go visiting he plays with their toys, again ( so far!) he is pretty good and does not run around and get into everything !
