hello to anyone bothering to read this! Hoping theres a mock cream/ fixing stuff ups in the kitchen expert...
Ive attemped to make some mock cream to fill cream puffs/ profiteroles but have messed it up big time. I usually use cream but thought hey a change is as good as a holiday. Wrong.
Ok so the mock cream i heated the milk, sugar and cornflour on the stove and got the thickened mix all fine. Let that cool, all fine. Got out the mixer and had the butter and vanilla in there and mixed it a bit but it was getting late so i just started adding the thickened mix of milk, sugar etc and let it cream. The consistency is ok and the colour ok, but it just tastes like butter. Is there any way i can salvage it (the recipe made a huge amount and id like to try fix it before i throw it away!) if i keep beating it will it taste less like butter? I shouldnt have been so hasty adding the clag like mix should i.... Oh dear.
Any advice greatly received, will get some cream in the morning to finish the puffs off!
