Isn't mayo and ham a no no while pregnant? Mayo has raw egg and ham for listeria??

Ham is okay if it is heated. I believe the mayo you buy in jars is okay but not the stuff freshly made that could be an issue due to the raw egg (the jarred stuff has been treated so is okay).

I used to cook a chook breast up the night before work and use that for sandwiches

    Or blt.

    Or tuna salads.
What about the canned chicken? I can't see how that would be too different in risk to canned tuna

I lived on egg and lettuce sandwiches! I'm not sure howe true this is but I thought I read somewhere you shouldn't eat too much canned tuna while pregnant? Something about the mercury I think.

Yes, my midwife said no more than 2 small tins a week.

Thanks everyone! Some great ideas here. Yes I was told the same about tuna. I don't LOVE it though so it's not a big deal to keep it to twice a week.

I am obsessed with crunchy peanut butter but that isn't healthy at all, sometimes i mix it up and have peanut butter with jam. No wonder i am such a fatty at only 12 weeks lol.

Curried egg and salad is something a bit different... As long as you keep your cooked eggs refrigerated, and I make sure I eat them within 24 hours, they're perfectly safe, and delicious! Ham and cheese sandwiches were my 'lazy' lunch pre-pregnancy, so my new lazy lunch is tinned spaghetti (warmed up) on toast... Delicious :-)
