    Congratulations firstly

My DS was born at 31wks + 2days. He stayed in hospital for 5 1/2 weeks. His first few days were spent in NICU before being transferred to the special care nursery.

Every day your baby remains in the womb makes a difference to how long they stay in hospital.

If your baby is able to be bottle/breast fed, then they will not be in hospital very long at all (if there are no other health concerns of course).

He is getting fed through a tube. I've been expressing every 3 hrs for him.

    Default First premmie baby

My daughter was born at 35w4d and spent 36hours in special and was released from hospital at 60hours.
We were very lucky though that she breathed fine (despite being born purple) sucked fine and had no other problems

DS2 was born at 31+5 and weighed 1390g. He was in the nicu for two weeks and special care for another 6 - so 8 weeks all up. He's just turned one and he's my perfect little pocket rocket.

DD2 was born at 35 weeks and spent 7 nights in special care.
Some babies take a bit longer to get a sucking reflex so may have some longer stays.
DD1 born at 29 weeks and 4 days spent a couple months in nicu/scu but didn't develop her sucking reflex til about 37 weeks enough to have mainly breast feeds with no tube top ups
