I would be guided by your dr. I didn't use Zantac until ds was older but the benefits do outweigh the risks. It is hard when they are so small

My doctor says to tough it out for 3 months.
It seems so cruel when they are screaming so much

    Default Youngest medication?

My DS was put on Losec at 8 days old. We took him home from hospital and he screamed for 48 hrs straight. With the trouble we had with his older sister we knew exactly what it was so he was straight on the medication.

Dd went onto infacol. It's helped her wind/reflux a lot. They don't recommend losec/zantec/mylanta until after 6 weeks? We started dd on mylanta around 5.5 weeks as you could smell the acid burn.
At 15 weeks I was offered losec for her but decided not to as the mylanta soothes the burn and she's not overly troubled by the reflux so long as I've been using the infacol, to help with the wind.

    Default Youngest medication?

My DS was put on loses twice a day at 4.5 weeks old and we were admitted to mother baby unit for two weeks by the time he was 6 weeks old.

If your doctor won't prescribe anything get a referral to see a paed, they are usually more up with reflux.
