I react then think. We had someone break into the car, pre-dog days, and I went out to confront them and left dd in the house with instructions to call grandma if things went bad. It worked out though, until some chick came into my yard accusing me of sleeping with her boyfriend (the one breaking into my car) because why else would he be there? Um, to rob us, lol.

If I saw someone in our yard I'd just watch and start turning all the lights (inside and outside). I'd also text my neighbour (who would text about 10 other neighbors) and they'd all be out on the street for me!

My house is alarmed, so I'd know straight away if they tried to enter.

It's important to still notify the police (just call the non-emergency line) that someone was snooping around - there may have been other break-ins in the area etc.

Last year there were a heap of break ins in my neighborhood. Some neighbours installed cameras and now wish they didn't - he'd prefer not to know how many randoms walk through our very quiet, out of the way, dead end street.

I'm a bit of both. The other night neighbours were having a big dispute pretty much on my driveway. I went out the back to listen and thought about grabbing my big mag lite just in case lol. But I also had my dp's number ready to dial we don't live together and he works night shift so I don't really have the option to hide under the doona. But he'd be over in a shot if something happened.

Poor bloke, bet it was a looong while before he drank that much again!

Another one who has since past clubbed a bloke trying to steal her handbag with her walking stick lol

I would call the cops, and hid. even if they left before the rocked up i would still want them to do a check of my yard etc. specially if i was alone with two kids. as much as i would like to think i would confront someone outside i wouldnt. Inside for sure with whatever i could to keep my kids safe.. so would my little puppy lol

    I would dial 000 immediately.

There's no way I would go outside, I'm easily overpowered and would fear getting attacked and raped.
