I guess I just needed a bit of a pep and you guys helped so thanks

Off to pick DS up from school soon. Still get those butterflies when I get in the driver's seat though.. a mix of adrenalin and nerves! Absolutely LOVING my new found freedom and I can't let a near miss ruin this..
Glad you did And don't worry you will get more confidence. I used to feel like I was breaking the law when I first got my licence and was driving around by myself, even though I wasn't lol. You do get better though and you'll look back in a few months, a year etc and be like wow I've improved so much. They say you don't really learn to drive till you get your licence and are out on your own and it's so true. Good luck

    Just a quick note...
Glad you are ok-and pp's are right-it's best to get back in the car

Also about the defensive driving course-there's a new school of thought about that these are actually counter productive.
They are done in controlled conditions and unrealistic scenarios and end up giving drivers a false sense of security and they then take more risks and endanger themselves and others.

That does make sense, Kezanzz.. I can see how it could have both negative and positive outcomes and give a driver a false feeling of confidence.

I went out this arvo and was caught driving in a hail storm.. was a little tricky but I'm glad I've experienced it now.
