Vomiting after eating eggs?

Hi all, just hoping for some input.
DS is 9 months and has been eating eggs since about 7 months, just here and there. The last two times he has eaten it, omelette the first time and in some vege fritters tonight (very little) he has vomited about 2-3 hours later. Both times he vomited until there was nothing left. I don't know if its just a coincidence or it's a reaction.
Has anyone had something similar?

my dd's egg reaction was hives that spread and were raised and looked like mozzie bites. She was irritated and itchy. The hives continued to swell around her face and lips. We ended up getting her to ER just in time. It then spread thru out her whole body within 40mins. Luckily it did not interfere with her airways. It took 2 days for it to clear completely and her puffy face to go down.
She never vomited and the reaction occured 2 hours after consumption of 2 scrambled eggs. She was 11mths.
We even tried her on an omlette at 6mths various times but she only ever ate a tiny bit. She can eat egg products now but she CANT have say, an omlette, frittata, scrambled eggs. It's the AMOUNT of egg that triggers her allergy.
We were told by the peads we can re-introduce eggs after the age of 2 but i am yet to even think about doing that!

I have heard of adults having egg intolerances - upsets their stomach. Could be whats happening with your child. If u see a rash or "mozzie like bites" head to ER asap.
Id lay off the eggs for a bit too.

Yes I think I will definitely avoid them for a little while. No rash thank goodness.

it was awful to see her in pain like that and her little heart racing 130bpm
If there is no rash then id say maybe he's just gone a bit overboard on the eggs and they've upset his belly. Watchout for the other end too!
Maybe limit them to a once a week thing while he's young
Hope it's not a virus or anything yuck like that tho.
Has he had a temp with the vomiting?

Oh yuck! It's so hard to see your baby sick!

No temp and both times he has pretty much just vomited everything up then fallen asleep in my arms, woken up again and wanted a BF. He was fine the next day last time and so far seems to be fine this time.

I was diagnosed with an egg allergy at a young age... This has continued into adulthood.

It started with hives and vomiting. Now my symptoms range from hayfever, asthma, rash, miagraines through to vomiting and swelling. I have never eaten enough to get a full reaction (touch wood).

Totally agree that in the case of mild-moderate allergies it can depend on the quantity of egg that is consumed. Egg in baked goods like cake, biscuits or crumbed items is ok for me. The quantity is low particularly when you take into account the other ingrediants.

Anything more like tarts, merangines, custard etc is a def no go! The egg quantity is too high.

I have been able to get a couple of injections based on egg but I do have symptoms for a few days afterwards.

My doctor has told me that the allergy extends to all eggs (chicken, quail, duck etc). Its a protein you are allergic to which is the same in each type.

Can you get an allergy test through your gp?

We had this with DD1 when she was a similar age! We tried egg twice, both times she vomited violently afterwards so we laid off the egg for a few months. Tried again around her first birthday and she was totally fine I assume it was just too rich for her tummy at the time.

Hi my DS has an intollerance to chicken meat. Its called Food Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (fpies for short). Each time after eating chicken 3-4 hrs later he has severe vomiting till its just bile. We even had a ham and pineapple pizza from the local takeaway shop one night and there must of been a piece of chicken on it because 3hrs later he was vomiting. Maybe have a look into fpies.

My DS is anaphylactic to egg (and he is 6! I cannot believe any paed would say go for it when they are 2 instead of recommending an egg challenge!)

One of my DS' symptoms is vomiting, so I would definately look into it more. Also they say that more people are allergic to the whites than the yokes and less affected by eggs that have been baked rather than fried. The other thing to consider is whether either of the eggs were partially raw. It is pretty common for partially raw eggs (or runny ones) to cause upset tummys in LO's.
