But being a victim of rape and brutal assault (which resulted in the loss of my 22 week old unborn son), by my exdf and his 4 mates whilst sleeping in my own bed in what I thought was a safe environment in my own house. I was sound asleep and I had no chance to leave or fight back. Asking them to stop, in fact blood curdling screams had no affect and it usually doesn't against the offending person. Whether I knew my attackers, and in this case I did, I was penetrated against my wishes and that is rape. That is black and white. Rape is pentration against someones wishes, whether male or female.

No one knows the conversation between the accused and the woman. For all we know, she could have said that she finds that type of thing kinky (as some people do)

Anyway, I'm rambling (I'm incredibly upset at some of these posts, so please forgive me if I'm rambling and my grammar is not up to scratch) so I really think that this whole thread must stop before other victims and other readers get hurt and offended.

I wish I hadn't opened this thread, it's brought up many emotions and quite frankly, I feel sick at the thought of what happened.
    I'm so sorry

    Again incorrect.
The courts in Sweden released the statements of the women and I am only referring to what the prosecution has public admitted.
As in the what case the prosecution has on him and what they have publicly released.
After they became a laughing stock his charges where down graded to minor rape.

I find alot of the pc haze around rape makes it very easy for women, if they are so inclined to do so, to off load some, if not all of her responsibility. I am not saying ALL WOMEN I am saying SOME... just in case you got a little confused.
So now you are dictating what should and shouldn't offend people? Okaaay...

I think it's disgusting to insinuate that women make it up. Whether it's five women you are referring to or 500 - it's offensive to anyone who has been raped. It is a perfect example of why so many rapes go unreported.

How do you know what conversations they had? How do you know what they told each other? You where not there.
    Its speculation.

Both women where so traumatised by the events that they needed to contact a newspaper to find out exactly how much damage they could cause.

There is no way in hell I will ever believe these women where raped and it's an absolute disgrace to actual rape victims.
That's my issue with this particular case too.

In general I do agree that someone penetrating another sleeping person without their consent is rape. But *personally* if the above happened to me and I did not stop them, say no, push them away, get upset or angry and continued sex when I woke *I* would not consider that rape. And that's even without all the above issues Janesmum mentioned.

A person's conscious decision to rape is the sole reason for rape.

And if a persons conscious decision is that they are having consensual sex and are then told later 'NO you raped me' What then?
