Default Re: Wdyt? Sex with sleeping woman not rape? *trigger warning*

I am amazed this thread hasn't been closed. Ladies I don't think this is going to get anywhere that will keep everyone happy. Obviously there are a number of people who are highly offended and others who have their controversial opinions...so I think it's time to just back off now. Let's play nice again

That doesn't mean your posts are any less disrespectful. Your tact is non existent, your words are cold, rude, hurtful and offensive.

That is IF and its a BIG if, any of this happened in the first place.
The acceptable action is for someone not to have sex with someone else who isn't awake. I didn't realise if you invite a man into your bed, he has free reign over your body until the morning when he leaves. She should have just laid there quietly and let him finish, because he was in her bed. Initiating sex in the morning is NOT the same as just going ahead and doing it while the other person is asleep.

In relation to Julian Assange, I must say it sounds like a set-up if the bragging on the Internet etc are true. But who knows. We only know what the media tells us...if it's even true!

In general, if the woman was asleep, no consent= rape, pretty simple.

Must say though (and I've stupidly put myself in this position before in my younger, dumber days) inviting a stranger into your bed for the night is a pretty dumb thing to do. Not saying it makes rape ok or puts responsibility on the woman. It doesn't. But women who do this are leaving themselves wide open to this sort of thing. Don't care about morals- it's personal safety that's at risk here. We wouldn't walk through dimly lit areas by ourselves at night but we have a stranger in bed with us when we're at our most vulnerable- asleep??
