Default Horribly Painful Periods, What to do?

I have always been very lucky, and had relatively uneventful periods my whole life.
I am 29 and have been on the pill since I was 15, (so nothing has changed in nearly 15 years)

But over the past 6 or so months, i have been getting increasingly more PMS, to the point where today, the first day of AF, I could hardly leave the couch and my comfy blanket (I am lucky that I had an RDO, because I was feeling so terrible that there is no way I could have left the house to go to work)

It started with just getting headaches the week before AF was due, then I started getting more and more cramping, then added back and neck aches and this month I have also had terrible nausea. It has all been just getting worse and worse each month.

Has anybody else experienced anything like this with age?
Any suggestions to ease any symptoms?

We are planning to TTC later this year, but I am now worried that when I go off the pill, these symptoms will increase even more?

Any advice or thought would be appreciated.

Having a baby can actually help i know of people that had horrible period pain before kids and after they hardly have any pain at all. but contraception wise i've heard that the mirena is really good for that so it would be worth a shot.

    good luck that sounds horrible

I get bad pains too and i am usually housebond for the first two days.
    Things that have helped...

Getting my Thyroid levels back to a normal level, i found out last year that i had sever hyperthyroidism and have been on meds since.

Taking an voltaren pill plus a pain relief pill as soon as i get my period the voltaren pill helps ease the cramping.

    Use a hot water bottle

Also you could get tested for endemetriosos (sp) it can cause heavy periods and cramping.
I have heard that going on the pill helps with period pain too.

Default Horribly Painful Periods, What to do?

Def get checked for endometriosis, my DP had stage 4 endo and it was best to have it removed before beginning any fert treatment. Two signs are extreme pain and heavy periods

Sorry to hear you are having a bad time. Def go see your GP for a check up. I have endo and wish I had it treated much earlier
