    Default Egg collection only

Hi, feeling alone and misunderstood at the moment. My surgeon has me on egg collection every 5-7 weeks for the next 6 months+. It's rough!!! He is trying to save us money and increase our chances of success due to all embryos needing genetic testing because my husband has a balanced translocation.
Has anyone else ever had egg collection continuously for months on end?

I'm afraid I don't know anything about egg collection but that sounds really full on and a bit odd too. Hugs!

Sorry, just confused here. Are you doing IVF? Is your surgeon doing egg collection so that you will have a large supply of eggs all at once to try to fertilise? It sounds absolutely horrendous to me. My FS recommended at least one month break between IVF cycles that required egg collection.

I always had a rest cycle after each egg collection.
I think there are some girls who have banked embryos for PGD (CGH) in an IVF thread.
If you're banking eggs for fertilisation later I wouldn't recommend it. In my limited experience the thawed quality is much worse than fresh eggs. Best to go for freezing embryos rather than eggs.

No rest cycle here!!! It's insane. Yes we are freezing embryos not eggs, so that we can do a batch for testing as opposed to pay an extra $3500 out of pocket on top of IVF fees each cycle.
Was really hoping there was someone else in the same situation!!

We didn't have testing done but I did do 12 ( I think) back to back ivf egg collection cycles. To be honest it wasn't that bad. At least I felt I was doing something towards getting my baby.
