Default family day care...opinions or experiences please :-)

    Hey mummies,

Needing some opinions or experiences on family day care from anyone who has used it please! We recently moved to a new town and the day care center here is not very good. My DD is 2 and been in care for over 1 year at another center and hardly got sick and loved it there. This new center always has sick kids and i don't think they are sticking the ratio rules There are many other issues but I won't go on about it!

So because there isn't another day care center to choose from I started wondering about family day care. I have a meeting with the council on wednesday but woud love any feedback from anyone who is willing to share. good and bad please!

    thanks heaps

My DD is 9 months and has been in family day care since she was 5 months old so I could go back to work. I have nothing but positive things to say about the family day care she attends. I couldn't imagine putting her into a day care centre! With family day care there is less children therefore more time for one on one caring. My DD's carer also takes the kids to kindygym and play groups so there is also alot of children for her to interact with. She is always happy when I drop her off to day care and I can contact the carer to check in when ever I want!

If you're not happy with the centre then family day care could be a very good option.
