    Hi ladies

I received the call. I had a 1:2 chance of Trisomy 18 and I am the lucky 1. Our Jamdrop is so far clear of Trisomy 21, 18 and 13. We really never wanted to find out the gender and I predicted a boy. My gender prediction is correct we have a BOY.

Another week and a half for full chromosome results. Our doctor is extremely pessimistic but will to work with us on the future outcome of Jamdrop in regards to the bladder and blockage.

We will have a high level scan at 16 weeks to assess bladder blockage and if its a partial or total obstruction and assess the possible kidney damage and the level of amniotic fluid. I will then have the baby's bladder tapped and urine tested that will occur twice each a few days apart. The first urine will possibly be bad and not to taken into account and is to be expected not to be great news or a reliable indicator.

If still looking viable as in no extensive kidney issues and enough amniotic fluid etc.. they will send us to Brisbane to have surgery if required. We have a chance not a great one but we still have a chance.

I am hoping the next scan brings some good news and possibly we can start to enjoy our pregnancy.

Bella - Baby Jamdrop is fighting all those odds so far - I am so relieved to hear it. Hoping that the next batch of tests give you something positive! x

I have a great feeling about your wee one. Squee, little man!

18 weeks exactly! I haven't felt much yet, but had one nice flutter in the staff room at school today. I hope it's the sign of things to come.

I have our 19 week scan next Monday, and I'm scared about our odds for something popping up in that ultrasound too. (1:100 for us.) I hope our wee girl has the same fighting spirit as yours!

Bella - I too am relieved to hear your news. Very very happy for you. We too have just been given a 1:4 risk for trisomy 18 due to an exomphalos. Was it due to the kidney issues alone that your risk went up? Where will u deliver?

Default IVF Babies Due April/May/June 2013

Mimi it was due to a dilated bladder it was 1.34cm at the scan.

They are planning to tap the bladder at 16 weeks after scans to assess bladder and kidneys and test the urine and then repeat a couple of days later I am in cairns so have to go to townsville for this treatment the professor at townsville is speaking with the specialist on Brisbane regarding surgery options and treatment plan and travel between cairns townsville Brisbane and deliver at one of the three depending on what the health and risks of bub are at closer to the time. So far they aren't talking delivering they want me to get to 20 weeks!! But we got through the first hurdle.

My risk was increased by biochemistry (blood) results and the bladder being dilated.

When are you having testing? I hope you are ok and if you need anything messages xxx

I am going to have a 16 week scan and then consider an amnio. Was too scared to have cvs and feel the same about amnio but DH really thinks we need to exclude the trisomy 18 and 13. I will see how I feel after 16 week scan - the thing is they have seen the exomphalos but no other apparent abnormalities as this point and my biochem was completely normal. Feeling pretty devastated right now.

Default IVF Babies Due April/May/June 2013

Mimi I understand they are still giving us less then a 15% chance of taking home a baby. Until the bladder and obstruction is fully understood at 16 weeks we just won't know if anything can be done. It's hell it's hard to enjoy the pregnancy can't tell anyone family haven't congratulated us at all its not how we hoped it would be. They plan to tap the bladder drain it twice over a few days at 16 weeks I am freaking out no doubt also an amnio at the same time poor baby will have a needle in its tummy too

Hi mimi and Bellavista, I'm so sorry for the difficulties you're going through... It really must be heart wrenching for you at the moment. Keep positive and look after yourselves, your little ones will be fighting I'm sure.

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm sending up so many positive thoughts to you all.

Our 19 week scan is coming up this Monday and I'm already starting to worry. I know our high risk wasn't as high as some others here, but it's always scary - so I am praying everything is going to look healthy on the scan.
