Firstly, stc I am so sorry to hear your scan has left you with some concerns. I will keep everythng crossed for you that it is a slow little bean and will be better next week.
Disney, I also had a hematoma or pool of blood at my first scan. It was bigger than the baby. The head sonographer came in to take a look at it, did some measurements, looked at it in 3D and then was satisfied that it wasn't something to be overly concerned with. I went home and read stuff and lots of women are told about the threatened miscarriage by hospital ed's but not the good ultrasound people who know lots about pregnancy. I'd wait til you see your womens sonographer before getting too worried, but I agree with Pippi, no heavy lifting. My OB just said to only walk, no exersion.
AFM - had my 12 week scan yesterday and bubs is measuring spot on 12weeks. It took nearly an hour to do, but she was very thorough and the head sonographer checked the hematoma and it is slightly smaller and they will just check it again at the 20 week scan. (He also mentioned that there is not much in the literature about the chorionic hematoma's and the outcomes in pregnancy but he feels it is much more prevalent than thought) We have a DVD and I cant help looking at it over and over. Got the combined results today and am happy to say that we are low risk for both trisomy's. Yay, time to spread the love!!
