Turn it off by the point, do not plug anything into it lol and if it was a lot of water u may need the face plate to be removed so it can dry out

Depends how much water there is. Although it's a conductor, it won't really do anything if it's dispersed.

    Personally, i'd:
    -keep the power off
-remove the face plate, clean up as much water as possible
-If it's really damp in/around the socket, maybe wait a while before turning the power back on...otherwise
-leave the face plate off, block off the area in front so noone uses the socket
-turn the power back on, but avoid using that socket for a day or so

I hadn't had my morning coffee so I was a bit all over the place and forgot that the father in law is a electrican, was told to use a hairdryer to dry it out, not using the same power point of course lol
