I decided I am going to have my backup birth photographer do it, if nothing else, its good experience for her!

Can't wait til I get to photograph another, so glad so many of you are keen on the idea

I had an emergency CS, and the anethistist (sp?) was about 6 foot 8. He took control of the camera after doing his medical work, and we have the most amazing pics from it, like someone was hovering above! There are pics of DD half in/half out, all the way through to leaving the operating room. He got pics of the clock on the wall, the pead's assessing her, all the stuff you wouldn't be thinking of.

Some people are a little bit grossed out by it but I love them, and so does DD.

    Go for it.

Ive seen some amazing photos taken of a friends birth.. It's not something I would feel comfortable doing though. I'm pretty hostile in labour and no amount of photoshopping can make me look decent.. Plus a zoom heading in the direction of my v-jay makes me shudder

My midwife took photos during my first birth (I asked for a very hands off birth, so she basically stood back & took photos, with the odd word of encouragement).

The photos are AMAZING. I will cherish them forever. I would have loved photos for the second, but he arrived too quickly.
