Default Re: Agh - Parents who sit in their car while their kids play

I live in a small town, the kind of town where people feel SAFE to do this.

A few weeks ago a teen was raped, at 4.30 in the afternoon in the main street public park NO ONE saw anything cos it is a small town and it is 'safe'.

No its not a matter of 'at least she took her kid to the park' anything can happen.

Default Agh - Parents who sit in their car while their kids play

I've sat in the car and watched from a distance, with two special needs kids it's sometimes the beat thing for the older kids to have a break while they sleep in the car. As long as they're in sight I don't have a problem with it

There is a mum that does this at the park near us i see her kids there a fair bit, have helped them out of they fall over dust them of etc and didnt think anything of it, the mum is always watching from the car. I did meet her one day but she got out of the car cause the little one had fallen over and cut his knee ( we got there just after ) the mum was lovely she was in a wheelchair her self.

She shouldn't be in her car unless they are old enough to walk to the park themselves or be left at the park.

I would have judged as well if I had to 'parent' other people's children.

Really? I dont do it but i wouldnt judge somebody else.

Im actually kind of speechless. This kind of judgemental rubbish just makes us feel guilty about every decision we make. As if we need someone to make us feel bad when we are on bubhub. Poor form.

How old we're the kids I wonder.

Big deal blissed out, her kids weren't in danger, at least they weren't
Playing on the road. Some people have too much time on their hands and should get a life instead of worrying about someone else's just to pass time.

Yep spot on. My child is early 5 and he is quite capable to play in a playground unsupervised although he's still in a car seat

Good on you ishtyban, people shouldn't be so judgmental of others. Walk in love and peace for gods sake.

Yeah, but kids get upset when I am on the swing too long

You obviously didn't read the whole thread. BO mentioned they were 2 preschoolers and a toddler and that she had to grab the toddler from running onto the car park.??
I think I'd judge a parent who left a toddler unsupervised (which sitting in a car on your phone constitutes in my book) in a playground for other parents to watch out for.
