    Default Anyone not taking supplements?

Is anyone not taking preg supplements? They all make me feel sick and give me the runs and the Dr said I can just take folic acid and iron. I feel guilty as last two I dragged myself through it but this time round its just too hard to feel like this and chase the two other's.

I never took them, even the folic acid I just totally forgot, I had a lot of stress at the time with the toddlers father, so it wasn't on my mind. And the toddler came out perfectly healthy Bub tends to get the flu pretty easily but also goes to daycare four days a week.

I only took iron last time. I'm not on anything atm for this pregnancy. It's not in our budget.

I didn't with ds1 and he has Spina Bifida. I was young and healthy and didn't think anything like that would ever happen to me. I at least took folate with the last 2.

When I remember I end up constipated (a complaint common with elevit it seems) so I might try and change the brand.

I took the multi-fish oil combo until I was about 11 weeks. After that I just couldn't stomach them any longer. They made me feel so sick and do these fishy burps. It was gross. I would say just take folate and eat a balanced diet. I took them more last pregnancy and was anemic. This time my iron levels were fantastic. Supplements are just there to supplement your diet. I'd put a far greater emphasis on eating lots of veg and lean meat (esp red meat) and fish than the vitamins. The folic acid in the first trimester is very important though.
