    I saw Mary Poppins on broadway last year. Fantastic!!!! Even my dh thoroughly enjoyed it!!

    I saw Lion King on Broadway in 2003, I had standing room only tickets at the back of the theatre and it was still fabulous. Sometimes being too close to the stage works against you because you don't see the overall picture. All of them would be great. Don't worry about going alone, I did too and it was fine. I would have regretted letting being on my own stop me.

    Also, pop into the Mc Donalds on the corner of 42nd and Broadway, the lighting in there is all on rigging like in the theatre so it feels like it is a theatre too.

    I saw Mary Poppins in New York -absolutely amazing! Even DH lived it and he never even saw the movie and hates musicals

    Watch all three!!!

    I'd go lion king or mamma Mia!! I personally didn't like the musical but that's coz I love love loved the movie and any little bit that strayed from the movie was a no-no for me
