Default Re: Long Term TTC with a History of Loss Chat

    Good Morning All :waves:

I have a question that I want some opinions on. We are currently planning our holiday of a lifetime, going to Malaysia for the formula 1 at the end of March then a week in Vietnam, what would you do on the TTC front? Would you keep trying or put it in hold? I have read up on Vietnam & although they won't vax pg ladies for malaria there are ways to help prevent it. We will be staying in the big cities Hanoi & HCM mainly which seems to be recommended but I just don't know. AF isn't due until 20th so I won't be testing unless she is late. So I am worrying about this for nothing? I would really appreciate your opinions.

PS so glad the app is working for now so much easier that using the mobile internet skin!

    Hello all

Raelene - Congratulations again So exciting! Let us know how your results turn out.

Del - I'm so sorry. This whole TTC business is cruel. Hope you're doing okay.

Lama - I would go for it and keep TTC. We put so many things on hold while TTC, and now I regret it. About to go on a work trip, and I nearly cancelled it due to TTC, but I missed going last year (a year ago) for the same reason, and I think it gets so depressing if everything goes on hold. I know you're not talking about missing the trip, but where TTC is concerned I would give it everything you've got, and work it out if it happens! I also like the sod's law principle, whereby it'll happen at the most inconvenient time for it to happen!

Jill - I'm so sorry. Welcome to the group, but I wish you - and all of us - weren't here! If you know what I mean.

spud - Sounds like a busy month for you! When do you expect AF?

AFM - Maybe some good news... Just doing a frozen embryo IVF cycle, and I tested yesterday afternoon (crazy early - only 5 days after the 5 day transfer), and got a faint positive on an FRER. So I tested again at 3am this morning and it was a little darker. Have tried to attach a picture. It's a very faint line, but it's there! I'm so hopeful, but scared too. The last positive we had ended up in m/c and a D&C at 8.5 weeks. This time I've tested so early and the line is so faint that I'm scared it'll just fade away. Fingers crossed it lasts and sticks!

    Hi All,

Girl X - I can see it!!! You were right, it does look like mine hahaha. Congrats!!! Fingers crossed it keeps getting darker

Lama - I'd still go on the trip. As DH would say, if it's meant to be, it will be. I've been living like a pregnant woman now for over 12 months and while I've been pregnant 5 times now, I've lost 4 in that time. I've learned (and am trying to accept) that while I am a control freak and control everything else, this is one thing I cannot control. Take your precautions and if it's meant to be it will be.

Spud - Thinking of you and hoping that this month is good for you too

Del - My heart goes out to you, I don't know what to say other than I feel your pain and am sending you lots & lots of hugs

Jill9 - Welcome to the group. Like everyone else, sorry you have to be here but everyone here is amazing and understands much more than you can possibly imagine. Sorry to hear of your loss, be kind to yourself and know we're all here for you.

Luey - Hope you're enjoying your time away.

    Hope everyone else is ok.

AFM - I'm actually really quite anxious. I'm going to go and do my bloods shortly and am sort of procrastinating because I'm scared. I had a terrible sleep last night because of the anxiety. I know I need to try and stay calm but as if the ttc journey isn't hard enough, when you get there, after our histories, it's constant worry. I'm sure everyone one of you know what it's like every time you go to the toilet and wipe, praying that there's no bleeding or spotting, monitoring every little twitch. Will let you all know how it goes later today once the FS has called with the results. Please keep your fingers & everything else crossed that this is a healthy, sticky one.

Thanks girls Feeling pretty freaked tbh, cervix is still super high at 12 DPO, another BFN. That's not normal for me for a non pg month. Will wait it out and maybe use another FR in a week.

    Hi all,

Girl X - OMG, that is a pretty line. I hope that it keeps getting darker for you.

Jill - Welcome to our group, and so sorry to hear of what you are going through at the moment.

Del - Sorry to hear about the bfn, hopefully it is just a bit early.

Rae - Good luck with bloods today.

Lama - My neighbours went to Vietnam in April/May this year and were staying in a hotel/resort in one of the cities (not sure which city) with their 4 month old and she said that she did not see a single mosquito and said that she would not hesitate to go again. I would just keep trying at this stage if I were in your position.

Well, I *think* today is O day for me. I don't temp and I don't have any opks at the moment so based purely on CM and ovary pain, it think I am today. Del, where would one expect their cervix to be at O time?
To be very honest, I have so little faith in my ability to get pregnant naturally I don't really put too much emphasis on tww and all that jazz, other than being sure to do the do at and around O time. Oh for a lotto win so that I can go back to the fertility specialist.

I might have another miscarriage...she said in one breath my levels are low and I need progesterone pessaries (which she is organising now) but in another breath she said they never test hcg this early anyway...anyone have any experience with this? She said hcg is 12 and progesterone is 11 and needs to be at least 30...she's testing again on Thursday
