staying a few nights at yosemite national park in california.
i had the worst nightmares - smoke, screaming, disorientation and feeling terrified. the next day we went and did the tourist centre and the guide remarked on the fact that i kept yawning. when i told her i hadn't slept well she asked why, kept pressing me for details about my dream then smiled. she told me they get people through every now and then who experience the same thing and that where our particular hotel was located, a large massacre against the native american indians occurred a couple of hundred years ago
    totally freaked my brother out!

When we were in Hawaii a few years ago, we were on a boat cruise (after finishing our day trip snorkeling) and encountered a "super-pod" of whales. The captain estimated there were probably 800 whales, they were just everywhere!!

My mum and I saw a UFO. It was a bright light in the sky, hovering in the same area but darting up and down. Looking through the binoculars it was red and green and diamond shaped. Then four bright lights moved quickly towards it as if coming from the corners of a square to the centre.... and then they ALL disappeared! We quickly ran inside the house petrified!

I saw a dark grey tall shadow 'move' past the drivers side window of my ex's car and around the fence of my driveway at the time. At the time I saw this my ex saw a burning bright light about the size of a tennis ball expand into the size of a basketball, then quickly shrunk back until it disappeared into itself - Crappy, crappy explanation but the best I could do lol. I was sitting on his lap with my back against the window and he was wearing a white Adidas jacket when I first saw the shadow over him and I thought my brother had come out to see why we hadn't come in. It still freaks me out when I think about it.

When I was about 10 in the country town we grew up in, my mums friend was a housekeeper in the local pub. There were rumors that it was haunted. One day while I was helping her make beds upstairs I turned to see a little girl of about 5 with pigtails in her hair and wearing a pinafore dress. She smiled and skipped off down the hall way. I looked up in disbelief at my mums friend who just smiled back knowing that I had seen the ghost too.
Turns out the little girl was the daughter of the original owners of the pub and she drowned in a dam that used to be out the back.

A pp mentioned being in awe of her baby's placenta. This reminded me of the amazement of my birth experiences.
With both ds1 and ds2 my waters didn't break and they were both born posterior and in the sac!! Ds1 was an induced labour and he became distressed so was an assisted delivery. They broke the sac as he was delivered, it was all pretty stressful and rushed.
But with ds2 I had a spontaneous labour with wonderful midwives who provided mirrors for me to see everything. Was the strangest yet most amazing thing I've ever seen as he came out, sac still completely intact!! My midwife peeled the membranes away from his face like a mask and we all got drenched in amniotic fluid as he let out his first cry and was placed on my chest. So surreal!! Even my midwife said she'd never seen anything like it!!
