I do it whenever. She's 7 and doesn't rely on me to keep her occupied.

I couldn't get any time doing my own thing when she was younger, but now I can do whatever and she does her own thing, calling out if needed. I don't know how parents of toddlers get time on the computer :/

You will notice my posts usually at this time ( laying next to napping DS) or after 8.30 pm when DS is asleep!

Default Re: Going on the Net when home with the children

I do it mostly before they get up, or after they are in bed, and flick in and out during the day while they are occupied. I take coffee breaks too lol, they know I like to do my own thing then. I'm a SAHM and its been 18m since there was a day nap in this house. I really struggle having 12 hours of kids-talk a day so going online keeps me sane. We have a good balance of outings, cuddles, playing together, playing by themselves. It sounds like I'm trying to justify it and I guess I am, I used to be a lot worse last year when I was really struggling mentally. I'm feeling much better this year and have cut back a lot...
