hey girls, sorry I've been MIA lately. Had a fair bit going on since I last posted.

Zakmick - I am so sorry to hear about your recent miscarriage. I was hoping you had it in the bag this time.

MCG - your doc sounds the same as mine. He isn't Gareth Weston at Monash, by any chance?

Bellavista - welcome to the thread!

As for me - we met with 4 other FS for a second opinion, I guess I was hoping for someone to pinpoint an exact cause/reason and give me renewed hope, but alas, they all said the same thing - we are just incredibly frikken unlucky, and that my current FS had done everything right. After meeting with them all, we decided to persist with our current FS as we believed he is still the best. They all just said it's now a numbers game and we just have to keep playing along. I don;t want to play anymore!!! So... we went for our 4th fresh cycle with ICSI - only change was the HA-ICSI and a swap to Cetrotide instead of orgalutran. DH got a kick out of mixing drugs but I responded fairly poorly. I had one dominant follie that we had to watch so couldn't give the others a chance to grow. Collected 11 eggs of which we got 2 blastocyts. I seem to always have a mini genocide at day 4, where my numbers drop by more than 75% overnight. One sent for CGH testing and we chucked the other in. Had my BT this morning but the HPTs indicate no luck. So once again, we're back to the drawing board.

We meet with FS again in 3 weeks so might discuss a long down-reg cycle and testing for the 'witchcraft' NK cells, because what else can we do!?

It's suprising how OK I feel, I think I'm just numb now. Although, having a coffee with DH after BT this morning and a toddler looked up and smiled at me, so I burst into tears. Perhaps, not doing as well as I thought.

Do you ladies believe in detox/naturopathy? We are both pretty healthy and fit, my only real weakness is red wine and chocolate, but am thinking that's just another thing I might have to give up in this quest.... why not take ALL the enjoyment out of life, eh? Am so sick of life being on hold...

Sara.... sorry to hear your recent attempt didn't work. Lol, no, my FS is Prof Illingworth at IVFAustralia. He's excellent, just very slow in taking on new research. But do read in the NKC thread what I wrote tonight about my latest consult with immune specialist Dr M :-))

Hey zamick, i remember you've seen Lynn, but then went ahead with the other doctor? Ive been following your journey. ...perhaps reconsider seeing her again? she got me pregnant first go after 6 failed stim cycles at mivf. I was also doing a treatment with a chinese doctor for 4 months prior to cycling and continue taking herbs and acupuncture during pregnancy. We now have b/g twins after a difficult pregnancy, they were born at 25w4d, spent nearly 4 months in nicu, but are now doing fantastic considering tge drama surrounding their birth and conception and being born so prematurely.... you've probably seen Lyn's thread, there's more info on my story and others. I reckon she's the one to go to in Melbourne, as well as Richard for chinese medicine support. He not only helps you get pregnant, but also maintain pregnancy. I might had not been able to get to viability if I hadn't stuck with him for the duration of pregnancy. Ps me if you'd like more info xoxox

Zakmick I'm so sorry I fully understand your pain. My heart breaks for your loss. I know there is nothing that I can say but I wanted to let you know I am thinking of you.

Lena... wow, you certainly had a rough trot to get your babies. In this business I do think it's really important to do your reasearch and go with the best in your capital city. Then, at least, you will never look back and have any regreats, thinking that more could have been done.

AFM... I had my FET this morning. They ended up thawing one of my morulas (in the freezer I had one early blast and two morulas). When I asked why did they use the morula and not the early blast, they said it was because the morula needed last night to grow a bit more, and if it wouldn't have worked then they could have pulled the blast out first thing in the morning, as apparently the blast would have only need 1-2 hours to thaw. Once explained, the science behind it sounded good, and it all turned out great. The morula thawed and grew nicely over night, and the FS said it was an "excellent" blastocyst, so it's now on board. I know that not all frozen embryos do survive the thaw, but again I think this success had to do with my sister's perfect eggies to start with. Preg BT not until Mon 28/7, but AF likely to show up a good 4 days before that, if it's not to be.

MGC - how are you travelling 4 days in?

Lena - who is this Richard, chinese doctor? I'm booked to see Alice Gao this afternoon as I was recommended her...

I met with FS yesterday. He kept us waiting a fair bit, but once we got in the room he told me he'd deliberately seen patients out of order so we could be last and not rushed - a 40 min consult, a nice change from his usual 10 min. I think he's seeing us as a personal failure now!

So, we got the PGD results back from our embryo and it is one chromosomally happy little embie (yay for small wins)! FS won't let me do another fresh cycle and wants me to use the frosty as he believes I am asking too much of my body So... I'm booked in for another laproscopy on Friday - so we can take both a sample for NK Cell testing and complete an endo scratching to help with implantation.

Should we have high NK Cells, we'll move forward with the intralipid infusions/clexane/prednisolone. Should we be normal, we're going to try a Filgrastim infusion - something I'd not heard of before. Basically, it's a human growth hormone that may help with the endo lining!? Has anyone done or heard of this before?

In addition to this, we are going to do HCG support (3 boosters at days 3, 6, 9 post ET) and acupuncture...

So, all in all - this cycle will be one with the lot! Surely it'll work this time, right!?

Plus, I had all my tests redone earlier this week with my GP, plus she's suggested I see a psychologist specializing in infertility. Think I might try that - am definitely down in the dumps and can't seem to shake it off...
