Mind if I pop in here too. You looked kinda lonely Loveabug and I'm not that far behind you..... secretly hoping some of your baby dust rubs off . Firstly big congratulations what a wondeerful chrissy present. Hoping I might be lucky enough for Santa to bring me the same. Am 11dpo today and am getting BFPs, but I did an Ovidrel booster shot in Thursday, so pretty sure that it is lingering and giveing me a false BFP. Frustrating part is I have to do another booster tomorrow night, which means I won't really know if it's a true BFP for another 3-5 days probably and then BFP on Jan 31 - too long to wait. I'm so damn impatient. Anyway - congrats again!!!!

    Default Back on Bub Hub

    Hi ladies,
I am back on Bub Hub after a long break. Am currently on my sixth IVF cycle - does that count as a long term warrior woman cos I certainly feel like one...

This cycle is different, we have made the hard decision to use donor sperm as my partner's sperm has very high DNA fragmentation which is unresponsive to vitamins etc, also poor morphology and motility which apparently not even ICSI with high digital magnification can help. We have gotten one blastocyst to implant each cycle with not even a chemical pregnancy and never any embryos to freeze. Finally my specialist said that I am running out of time at 36 and we really need to look at donor sperm if I want a child.

It is a painful thought that I may never have a child that is biologically related to my partner let alone never have a child at all. With the usual emotional baggage around doing an IVF cycle I now this time have to also deal with the reality that this time we are not using my partner's sperm and it is just SO hard. But if we don't do this then I may never have a child at all and I am not sure if I can live with that.

My 2 best girlfriends who started to ttc at the same time as me are now each on their second child - yep they have lapped me before I even got to number one. Hard to be happy for friends who are pregnant or who have kids when I am so damn jealous! Then last night I saw another pregnancy announcement on facebook and I just burst into hysterical tears of pain sadness and fear, that horrible fear that I will never be a mother and how am I going to live if I can't have the one thing I want most in the world? I hate facebook sometimes with all those damn baby photos etc. Do people even think before they post their ultrasound photos of the effect it may have on us poor infertile people? No they don't because ours is the invisible disease, never talked about and no one can see it by looking at you, they just think you are crazy for bursting into tears in the supermarket for no reason...

Well thanks for reading my rant, I look forward to getting to know some of you and sharing our stories. Tomorrow is my 2nd ultrasound so we will see if I still have the 8 eggs growing that were there on monday. EPU looks like Mon the 7th at this stage.

xoxo to all you lovely ladies here!

vettc - You have certainly earnt the right to post in the long termer's thread! Six stimulated cycles is a big deal, it's much easier and cheaper, in comparison to do frozens. If you're getting the follicles (it looks like you are), you would have a great shot this time with donor sperm. I wish you all the best.
