    Hi Ladies

I just wanted to share my little win for the day. I had the official sit down talk with my boss about working the month in Perth due to my pending IVF cycle. I had previously told him I may need time off ect but nothing concrete. His support was amazing! It almost knocked my socks off ! I went into the meeting with all my facts and figures and that I can still work I just need to be in Perth and I didn't even need it. I really think having works support is going to make this journey so much easier :-) It is really nice to see how far some companies have come in supporting women in the workplace! I'm all warm fuzzy tonight :-)

H Kristy, that is great news! So many women have had horror stories about eventually sharing their IVF news with their bosses just to have those bosses turn against them immediately- you are blessed to be in that job! Great stuff

Adden - Ella is gorgeous! They do grow up SO quickly, it doesnt seem that long ago that we welcomed our little possum Ava into the world...she's is now 16.5 months...its really flown! Here she is at 15 months...she's a little character
    Ava 14 months.jpg

Kristy838 - that's great your boss is being supportive, it just makes the journey that little bit easier when you dont have to keep secrets and worry about how much time off you are taking. My work has been brilliant, it took us almost 2.5 years of IVF and they were just great. I told them after my second transfer when I knew I couldnt keep saying I was just going to a Private Appointment! I was coming at going at all hours of the day having bloods and going to Perth for treatment (a 5.5 hr round trip)...they never questioned the time off. And now that I am back at work a couple of days a week to save up again they are great when I have to pick up Ava from daycare if she is sick (which happens A LOT!!)

In reference to earlier conversion - I am very open about IVF and Ava being a product of that, and our need to use it again. It's surprising how many people are actually interested in the details and how many have trouble conceiving themselves.

Kelbel86 - holy dooley that is a lot of eggs....how many were mature? did you end up with many embies? My last cycle was a whopper too (30 eggs)...i had bad OHSS and was in pain for weeks. I was so bloated, I think I was bigger then than at 6 months preggers! Hope you have a speedy recovery and that you got a potential football team to freeze

Hi to everyone else...we are off to a wedding and a concert this weekend....my last hurrah before I go cold turkey on alcohol, caffeine and all things that i love that are bad for me...time to get back on the health wagon!

Back again....forgot to add a bit of info for those wanting to increase sperm count..I have posted this before but it was a while ago now....

My DH had a vastecomy 16 years before we started IVF and consequently his sperm are just twitchers and "crap" according to my FS (lol)...anyhoo I believe that the natural meds we were taking increased our fertilisation rate (after doing the following our fertilisation rate (eggs collected v embryos made) went from 22-25% to 60%...that's double!!...here is a run down of what we were taking...most can be bought over the counter or on the internet or from your naturopath
    Naturopathic medicines – Tryingto Conceive

    Me:

    · Vit E
    · Fibroplex
    · Natal Care (similar to Elevit)
    · Lymphodran Plus
    · lots of Fish Oil
    · Progesterone Homeopathic (my progesterone was always on the low side)
    · three different herbal formulas - one for period pain, one for preovulation and one for post ovulation - with stuff like Licorice Root,Chamomile, Tumeric, Golden Seal, Shepherds Purse, Flase Unicorn Root, Ginger,Chaste Tree, Blue Cohosh, Dandelion Root and Shatavari - very yuck!...this was to get my menstral cycle sorted and stop any clotting i had when my endometrium shed during a period...my clinic never looked at this as an issue...my naturopath thought it was very important to stop this from happening.

    DH:

    · Meta Zinc powder
    · fish oil
    · metagenics male essentials
    · acetly-L-carnitine (sperm production and quality)
    · herbal formula with Damiana, Siberian Ginseng, Saw Palmetto,Gingko Biloba, and Licorice Root - he says its very yukky! I told him totoughen up, its bugger all compared to what ive got to go through!!

Mynaturopath also suggested acupuncture fortnightly (i did this), massage as often aspossible (i didnt do this!) and suggested I give my ovaries a massage (tummy rub) wheneverpossible to increase the blood flow. I was also given a detox booklet and toldto steer clear of caffeine in all forms and alcohol. The detox bit is a littledrastic in that I was not supposed to have dairy either - compromise wascutting out sugar, alcohol, coffee and junk food. If you eat canned fish try Salmon instead of tuna and eat lots of eggs.

    Hope this helps someone!

    Sarah

    Hey Sarah,
I ended up with 14 day 5 embies and 2 day 6 embies in the freezer. The embryologist made the comment about it being a footy team. Lol. Had no major ohss effects. Still slightly bloated but no pain or anything. Feel normal again.
Can't wait for AF to show up so I can get this cycle out the way and start my FET cycle!

    Hi everyone.

I know how you feel kelbel. Just want to get on with it now!

Ive been having a break from it all for a full cycle, while I wait for AF. All due to my freeze all cycle due to OHSS.
Hoping for AF NEXT WEEK. Very Mild stims cycle to do. So fingers crossed FET #1 is our cycle for a Bfp.
looking forward to sharing the journey with you too.

Congrats Kelbel86 on your 16 frozen embies. That's fantastic .
i had 17 frozen, all day 5 embies good quality etc.
they said those high numbers are rare but excellent of course. But it makes me think that they maybe could have monitored me more closely to try prevent the OHSS. But anyway im over that and just want it all to happen yesterday!

And a big hello to everyone else.
