Caketin - I am currently seeing Dr Jequier. She seems nice and has quite a bit of experience. The nurse we had was Stacey and she was the nicest person, she just made our appointment so much easier! Has anyone else on here used Dr Jequier? She has put me on an Antagonist Cycle. I dont think i have ever wanted to get AF so bad lol

Chachacha - Wow thanks so much for all those tips, i would have never have though to change arms when i did the blood tests. Im glad i have 2 weeks before AF starts, especially to get my head around it all. I thought i had done a lot of research but now its happening i feel unprepared.

We have decided to tell people. The first reason being i do FIFO and work in an office up north... Pretty hard to get to appointments, so i have had to tell my boss so i can work in Perth for a few weeks for the first cycle. The second is i dont want to hide it. I am proud that we have made the decision to do IVF. Im sure people will say stupid hurtful things when they dont think but i am hoping that the extra support will out weight the silly people.

I am really looking forward to getting to know you ladies on our ivf journy
Kirsty838 - my husband had Dr Jequier operate on him. He was happy with her. My second cycle was an antagonist cycle, was nice and simple and quick! We told people that we were going through IVF too. You'd be surprised how many people do understand really. If they don't I just explained what was happening.

    Hey Kelbel86

I am so excited to see someone else how does FIFO and is going through the same thing. I am hoping to work in Perth for most of it as i dont really want to take the time off and give myself way too much time to think. How did you cope with it all? My job is office based so i am hoping the IVF wont impact work too much.

If your in the office you should be fine. I'm a haulage supervisor so I don't think I would have been able to go back anyway. Especially with needing to be here for bloods and scans etc. I am day two after retrieval and doing a Freeze all cycle because I had too many eggs (36) so they worried bout ohss. So organizing to be able to do FET will be my next hurdle

Hey Kristy & Kel... I hope your journey is a short one, baby dust to you X

we told everyone aswell, I felt like I needed the support of everyone, whether the outcome was good or bad... My DH works FIFO (I did aswell in tge past) so needed to make sure I had the network of people to help me thru it... Each to their own though some people prefer to be private about it... Also the extra positive thoughts from friends & family can't help!

1 last thing, DH found out in March 2012 that he had a low count, he only had 1 million... Now we have a bub who will be 4 weeks old on Monday, it's amazing how quickly IVF can work... Just remember each cycle your FS learns more about your body which is one step closer to the result your after, some people just need to take a few more steps than others XX

    Hi All,

I have been in the background for a while but have built up the courage to start posting!

Reading all the information is definitely helpful but this journey also seems so confusing! I am currently in my assessment cycle and will be starting my first cycle of IVF next month (April) pretty sure I am going to have quite a few questions as we progress!

I have decided to tell no one! Not even my parents! My husband works FIFO so it's great to have so many other people to turn to fir advice during a time like this and especially when my "rock" is away!

look forward to the roller coaster ride I am about to embark on!
