They have single birthing rooms but after you have the baby you share with someone. Like if you have to stay a couple of days ect.

Interesting! Mine is the opposite - I'm not guaranteed the second I get there and will have to share but will be moved to a private room after...

How long does everyone's hospitals 'let' them stay? Mine is 5 days but if I have to have c-section, 6 days....

When I went public I had a private room and I shared a bathroom with the room next door. Also had a single birthing room. With DD2 we went private and again a private room but I had my own bathroom. Aslo a single birthing room.

My sister had her first public at the Mater in Bris and she had to share a room. Not sure what it's like there now though.

SL - I thinkmy hospital recommend 5 days with a Vaginal birth and I think 7 days with a c section. But when I had DD2 I wanted out the next day and my OB was happy for me to go. I was more stressed in hospital with settling bubs than if I was at home even in a private room. Once I got home I was much more comfortable and I could settle bubs how I wanted to etc...

So all going well I hope to only have 1 night in hospital lol.

    Default IVF Babies Due Jan/Feb/Mar 2013 #2

I'm really frightened.. My doctors office just telephoned and made an appointment for 4 after they told me last week just to ring tomorrow for the combined nt results as they expected the combined result would be low risk.

I spoke to the doctor last week after the ultrasound and she said we have a really low risk for downs etc. I'm freaking out, something must be wrong with the blood work the ultrasound was perfect

wow thats amazing that you were able to go home the next day. I guess if you have the experience and 'know what you're doing' it definitely would be way more comfortable at home. For me I think I shall soak up being a first time mum and having the nurses help me etc !!
