My bub was 150 at the 12 week scan. Before that it was 175. I am looking forward to finding out what I am having although i am a little scared of having a boy, only because of how horrible my step son is being.

We told him last night, he seemed good with it, but then there was lots of fights again because he still has done no homework etc....GRRR so annoying, i think he will get kicked out of school soon, i dont see the point in him going, and also us paying for private school fees for him to do NOTHING!

I really dont know what we can do, at the moment we have taken away all his priivledges like internet access (unless supervised), taken away his TV in his room and the hard drives with the movies. He doesnt do any sport or anything (cause he is very lazy and now overweight) so we cant take that away....

Yesterday he was at his mums and spun some story about having a sore tummy...so he didnt go to school, she dropped him at our house at 3 and he was in school uniform then he lied and said he went to school and had a normal day etc, only later we found out from a friend that he didnt even go to school!!!!

I just will go insane if he is laying around the house being a slob and being insulting while im on mat leave, i just want to throw him outside!

Ah my little rant is over....

    Default IVF Babies Due Jan/Feb/Mar 2013 #2

My brother is 14 he loves computer games to the point that is is his life. I never really see him do school work but apparently he is doing allright. I guess he is just one of those lucky people who don't need to study lol he rarely hands in written assignments but aces the tests so when combined passes on the report card. Anyway I had a chat with him about what he wants to do with his life and I'm really encouraging him to try and get a school based apprenticeship next yr. If your ss isn't interested in school it's not the end of the world. Even If he doesnt complete highs hook he can still go to uni down the track. Everyone needs to sit down treat him like an adult and give him his options. Then help him with the option he chooses. He has to continue going to school til he gets the job though. I had a young friend who dropped out in grade 10 got a Job and realized how she got hardly any money and worked so hard and decided to go back to school lol. You need to allow for your ss to set goals but also to change them when it suits him.

Oh yeah I told my brother to either school based apprenticeship or full time after year 10 and then he will be trade qualified as all his friends are finishing school and off to uni or working crappy jobs so he will make a descent income and then I said travel while your young go on a couple of contiki tours or whatever by the time your 25 you will be ready to set some more serious goals having had a heap of fun. He might be ready to work towards buying some property and settling down with a nice person.
I hope everything works out for your ss.

I hope things are going well for your Gampa very scary, rest up and try and relax a little.

Nicsta, your stepson sounds like a nightmare... I hope he matures before bub is born, who knows it might make him grow up a little.

Broomdyke, not sure what we are having... we call it "him" all the time but I think that is because we nicknamed it "PJ" after my DH's nickame... our heart beats have been 170bpm and 160bpm so both indicate a girl... who knows really! I have always wanted a boy first but I also just want a baby so either will make me happy... We aren't going to find out so won't find out till End of Feb/March to confirm!

    Happy Tuesday girls! XX

    Thanks for the advice Broom

I agree school isnt everything and I would be more than happy for him to quit and go and get a job, but the thing is he doesnt want to do that. He doesnt want to do any of it, he just says he wants to play computer and thats it. He doesnt see why he should have to do anything else...

Its not just the school work we are concerned about, its his whole concept on life atm.

We are constantly talking about goals and him setting some, basically anything (we would be happy if his goal was to work at Hungry Jacks) but he doesnt want to set any.

He is immature, and im sure one day it will click, but until then we have a very unhappy house.

Amy - We call our bubs him as well....I just think its a boy, ill prob be shocked if its a girl although happy either way as long as its healthy.

Yeah kids today are different to when I was a teenager lol if your boy is interested in computers keep ur eye out for computer based apprenticeships. Also encourage him to join a Tafe course or home based one where he will learn about animation or writing software. Maybe something else is bothering him and that's why he is being annoying lol. If it is his living arrangement he will get over it.

I think my bump is a boy and call him him lol my partner wants a girl but I think she secretly thinks bump is a boy too. We have a definate boys name so hard part done lol just cant wait to find out so I know for sure lol. Also heaps of people I know are pregnant at the moment and so far everyone who knows what they are having it's boys lol. Looks like it may just be year of the boy!!!!!
