Default Anyone going to WFC (Westmead) #2

Hi ladies I hope you don't mind me joining your thread. My partner and I had our first appointment with Dr Bradbury in October but unfortunately haven't been able to start our first cycle of IVF as I needed treatment (lletz) for CIN3 first all going well with my specialist appointment next week I will start pill popping in January for a February transfer (fingers crossed). I'm 28 with 3 children (Mr 11 and little miss 6 and 8) from a previous relationship and my partner is 34 and doesn't have any of his own children. We are traveling from Melbourne to go to Westmead and so far all the doctors and nurses have been fantastic! I've read over all the information they gave me so many times but it is still mind boggling to say the least. I'm hoping when we go to pick up the meds mid January that things will seem a little clearer
I hope everyone is doing well and look forward to speaking with everyone more
    Megan

    Hi,

I'm also new to Westmead, we travel from Brisbane. I had my EPU in November but they were unable to transfer because my progesterone levels were too high!! I think I'll have to wait until February for a tranfer now (we have 7 on ice) because of Christmas. They are lovely at Westmead, but like you I'm still trying to get my head around it!! Atleast the new year isn't too far away, all we can do is wait!!! Good luck!!!

That's disappointing that your levels were too high to do the transfer I don't know about you but I'm soooo sick of hurdles and waiting! I was hoping to have EPU and transfer while I'm on holidays from work so we could stay in Sydney in between but now we'll have to do 2 day trips. Did you fly home after you had EPU? The nurses said we should stay overnight just in case but I don't think we can.

    Thanks Crofty!!
And yes Missy14, I was upset! I stayed at a friends for 2 nights after transfer, she lives about an hour away from Westmead. It looks like I will have to wait even longer now (Feb) because of Christmas! Did you know that there is accomodation on the hospital grounds??

(Hugs) fingers crossed for February! I didn't know about the accommodation on the hospital grounds, we just assumed we'd find some crappy cheap hotel lol but I really don't think we'll stay after EPU as we will have to stay the night before. I've been trying to communicate with the nurses via text for the last few days to work out when we can pick meds up but so far I still have no idea! Once I commence taking the pill does that mean we're starting our cycle and in turn "booked in"?

My last stim cycle (late last year) was a day 1 freeze all due to high progesterone prior to EPU - how many did you get to freeze???

We ended up with 7 Crofty. Missy14, I got my medication couriered up to me. Maybe just ring the nurses and leave a message, they're usually pretty good at getting back to you.
