crofty - oh ok i had never heard her name mentioned except on here. I have 17 Day 1 embies frozen and so far have not had any discussion with anyone from WFC about the thaw plan at all. i know they want me to sign some docs when i go down there on monday for my blood test but they havent mentioned anything to me about speaking to anyone from the science dept and i am pretty keen to talk to someone about the thaw plan for me as since i have 17 embies and PCOS i would like to thaw more then the most liberal plan which is 4 at a time. I want to ask them to thaw 6 and have no idea who i should speak to about it and what they are likely to say. My reason for 6 is that i have PCOS and therefore they have no idea on the quality of our embryos so i think it is kinda unfair if they just go off everyone else's stats which is where is they say 25-30% of embies make it to blast hence why they only want to thaw 4 (statistically with 4 there should be one left at blast stage to transfer). but then if my embies arent good quality from the pcos i could very well end up with no embies to transfer and since i have 17 frozen i dont want that to happen on my first go on FET esp cause i missed out on having a transfer with my initial IVF cycle due to OHSS risk so this is my first real shot at getting pregnant and i just want to pump my odds up a bit. what do you think? is it my decision or are they going to boss me into only thawing 4 at a time because thats their policy?

We had 7 day1 embryos frozen. It depends how they batched them to be honest, ie: mine were 4, 2, 1 and on my 1st FET they thawed 5 to get me 1 blast and 1 murala. the scientist on the day of epu explained our thaw plan to me and dh and then we went through it again with the forms (or when we booked in fir FET) If you have 17 day 1 embies, you will more than likely have 4 batches of 4 and 1 of 1 frozen - so you run
The risk of thawing 8 for one embryo transfer, and they will only refreeze blasts(as far as I'm Aware) being your 1st time as well, they may choose a more safe approach as well. So your 1st question I ask would be how they have stored you embryos (how many in each tube) and go from there

    Andrea

It means that I tried 5 times to call her after she forced us to have a 3 month break. I did just that and she never answered. Last week she sent an EMAIL! Yes thats right a bloody email terminated us. Both my husband and I are disgusted in what she has done. And yes she was all great and concerned and interested to start with. But after forcing us to take a break and telling me to loose some weight.. (AND Yes My BMI is only 25!!!!) no where near the cut off. She then sent a long winded bull sh!t letter saying that we had lost confidence in her and she can no longer treat us.. I have actually been advised to take her to the medical board because her actions are so Disgusting. Im sorry to who ever is seeing her. Believe me for 2 yrs I thought she was awesome as well. I really did, but I guess I was in the too hard basket, so it was easier for her just to terminate us. But the way she did is mortifying. What a Biatch!!! We did nothing to her, Nothing and she didn't even have the decency to talk to us. All this was done via an email sent from her receptionist... You tell me is that wrong or what. If I choose to go again I will be going through another clinic. But in saying that I will miss the great friendship I had with Cecilia and some of the nurses are awesome. But Dr Fong can go a well you know STUFF herself!!!

Kylee, I am horrified at what's happened - I would have thought that as a doctor, she'd at least have the courtesy to call you & discuss the idea of finding you another specialist. It sounds quite cowardly, to be honest, and I am really upset for you.

crofty - i already know they have 2 batches of 4 embies 2 batches of 3 embies and 3 singles frozen. thats why i am thinking i would like to ask them to thaw the 2 batches of 3 so six in total as opposed to 4 and i am just wondering how much of a say i will have in the decision or will they just make it for us based on the thaw plan on the forms which is 4 embies????

kylee - I am so sorry that happened to you about dr fong. that is terrible to receive and email saying that i too would think that it should have been a discussion about your options and suggestion to seek treatment elsewhere if in fact you really had lost faith in her. i will admit though that i truly do believe that if you do lost faith in your doctor it is time to move on. i know when i stopped trusting my doctor from genea before coming to wfc i stuck it out for another 9 months and now totally regret that decision and wish i had of moved on as soon as i felt the first red flag appeared. but that being said for her to make the decision that you have confidence is weird? that should be your decision not hers? what are you planning on doing now?

Bubs4kylee- I am also horrified at what has happened to you!!! I would definately be following that up, even with the clinic as I'm sure they have some kind of code of conduct/customer charter to abide by!!! Keep us informed of the outcome and hope you find a better clinic/FS that will bring you your BFP!!!

Andrea-I would think that you a least have the option to discuss your thoughts and wishes with your scientist managing your fet thaw plan - when are you scheduled?

Mrs Jag- how is it all going? Did you say you ended up getting a BT with WFC? Still bit sure why they don't do this after your +HPT???

Afm - still surviving the dreaded tww - I forgt the dreaded symptoms of progesterone pessaries those awful twinges/stitch like paid and constant flutters - uuirrrrhhhhh frustrating - so I guess I'll know by then weekend if AF rears her ugly head!!! Fingers x this is the lucky transfer
