Default Should I put a stop to this

    Hi all
Just curious, my 14yr old dd is 20 hours into the 40 hour famine (doing it early because of sport commitments this weekend)
Thing is, she is feeling sick in the stomach, more than you would expect, an has no energy at all.. My gut is telling me she needs to stop even though she wants to keep going....

I think that at 14 I would trust her to know her body As long as you can keep an eye on her As long as she is having plenty of liquid she should be ok. Has she got barley sugar?

I remember doing the 40 hr famine when i was around that age.... Is she having enough water? Barley sugars?

If your gut tells you its not right i'd follow that instinct...

Is she going to school whilst fasting? Maybe she needs to rest tomorrow whilst she fasts. That's why it's normally over a weekend so you can sit around doing nothing.

She's been eating barly sugar and drinking heaps, the thing that bothers me is that she has been feeling off for a few days beforehand which I think is makin her worse.
Her older sister is doing it too and she is coping ok which is not helping cos she dosnt want to admit defeat to her sister, lol

One school I know off are also doing the $2 food per day thing for the kids that can't do the 40 hours.

Get her to read up about that and switch across with no fear of failure.

I did rice and water for mine.

I am actually surprised they're still doing it. It's not healthy and I refuse to donate money based on someone starving themselves.
