We ask MIL to smoke out on the footpath when she is here. When she comes back inside, the stench is *disgusting*

She only smokes about five cigarettes a day but she constantly reeks, despite washing hands, brushing teeth etc...I cringe when she sits on my furniture or in my car.

I smoke. DP smokes. We smoke outside, and not in the car.
I quit when i was pregnant, took it up when DD was 3 weeks old in PICU, gave up again about 18months ago but stupidly got hooked again.

Both DP and i are planning to quit in the very near future. My coke habit will have to go to (soft drink coke lol)

Nope not a smoker, I have had an occasional drag when very drunk. The next morning tho I feel like I've burnt my mouth and throat and everything tastes terrible.

My mother is a pack and a half a day smoker, in the car, in the house.. And she wonders why DS isn't allowed to stay??? She stops smoking inside a few hours before if she knows we're coming over, she doesn't understand that her house and her still reek and her house has a yellow tinge to everything. We grew up with her doing it and never realised how disgusting it is. I avoid going to her house, and she makes my house stink when she comes over even tho she smokes outside.

I just don't understand the appeal of it...

My husband and I are both non-smokers.

My parents smoke and every single one of my aunties, uncles and cousins smoke. I grew up in a house where my parents smoked inside constantly and I thought that was normal.

So glad I broke the family pattern and am super proud to call myself a non-smoker because of this

Nope never have and vener would!
drives me bonkers that mil smokes inside and doesn't see the big deal. She is 76 so it was prob the norm in her day. I find it really repulsive and I get asthma every time I go there. Actually hate going there and hate my kids being there in a smokey house and glad we live so far away we don't get there often but we have had so many arguments about it. I always bring up that the fact Dh has fertility issues could be due to her smoking whilst pregnant and the fact that I have asthma could be because my parents smoked inside back then. She just doesn't get that we know a lot more in general about the impact passive smoking has these days

I'm the biggest reformed smoker ever. I absolutely hate it. Hate it beyond belief. Can't stand anyone that smokes near children.
No one in my life smokes thank god.
Lol! Me too!! Us reformed smokers are the worst!! I can't stand it when you go to walk into a shop, or restaurant etc and somebody is blatantly ignoring the 4 meter from a door rule... Yuck, smells awful! Crazy though really cos I used to absolutely love that smell! am really pleased to say though that giving up smoking is one of the hardest things I have ever done but am so happy I did.
