Default What activities do you do for family time?

DH's idea of family time is sitting on the couch watching tv together. He is having 3 weeks off starting next week and i really don't want to be stuck home the whole time. What fun activities can you suggest or that your family do together?

I only have one 9 month old so I'm looking for fun for the parents that a child can come along to.

We love going on day trips. We live in Melbourne so we like going down the coast, or to the dandenongs, or even to a shopping strip we haven't visited before. We also like markets, picnics, galleries, ummm... Can't think of anything else right now. But even with a 9 month old, we did some 'kid stuff', like taking him to the beach, or the zoo.

We like to do outdoorsy stuff - so picnic, walk in the park, trips to the dog friendly beach, a drive somewhere for the day.

Default What activities do you do for family time?

We go to the beach or park nearly every Sunday, it's good even for a 9 month old to get out and explore and experience new sights and sounds , My DS loves watching the boats or surfers and in winter someone always has a kite ( his new fav thing) we either make a picnic or buy lunch out and sit in the beach, we don't swim in winter but he could play for hours in the sand ! Or sometimes we just walk around the city, go down to the harbour or Hyde park and wander around the city , eat at cafes , shop etc
