And KandP, I couldn't DTD before ET even if I wanted to with DH not here, but I don't orgasm from intercourse anyway. So if it is just to do with orgasm (and if so, why don't they say to have one instead of actual DTD??), then I intend on taking care of that myself.

From memory KandP I think the dtd before ET has something to do with the sperm preparing the uterus for foreign bodies (embryo). I'll have to find the paper.

You have pretty much had the same thing happen as me! I've got an early blasty and a morula on board too.. Wishing you all the best!!

Oh really honey? I'm not sure of the quality of your embies (as i said, mine weren't the best) but lets hope that our 4 are little troopers and snuggle in.

I didn't have an issue with the pregnyl bottles, not did I find the injection any different to any others.

As for DTD before transfer, my clinic has never mentioned it. I have read other people mentioning it on forums and they always talked about the night before. For my first cycle it wasn't an option for us, as my DH was recovering from his microdissection. Got a BFP that cycle. I didn't do it this time either, and my FS was suctioning out pessary residue before the transfer so I would have been a bit embarrassed if DH's junk was up there as well. (he doesn't have any "swimmers" so that's not a relevant term for us)

I think it's to do with the semen and the act of DTD relaxing the cervix, doesn't have to be sperm. Orgasm would probably help though.

Wow ladies, fast moving thread tonight. Thanks for the kind thoughts. Im still not coping well. The cold isnt helping and now we have a man cold in the house too! Oh dear...

KandP and Jessesgirl - you both have MFI in the mix yeah? My FS says that arresting/poorer quality after day three, so on d4 and d5 is often a sperm issue. And my Dr googling supports that. But its not always the case. Our first cycle with new clinic was def the case that the sperm was bad - from TESA that day. Frozen stuff gives us better results. But we have azoo, so different to you guys. And anytime anything is put back in there you have a chance. GL!

My clinic dont say anything about DTD before transfer. Old one did though. And dont be worried about swimmers being in there - I mean there is such a thing as monitoring some women in IF for their mucuos and how the sperm travels in it, I guess that is how they do it! Bet all those FSs didnt think this is what they were going to do when they went into this specialty! (Peonies - we wouldnt have "swimmers" up there either!)

Re pregnyl. Ive never thought they were anymore stingy than onther shots. We get these little plastic caps given to us to use on the bottles. Most important thing is to ensure the black dot is facing you. KandPs idea with the syringe is the same thing really. Some clinics are stingey with the little caps - they arent cheap and are one shot type things. I had to give DH pregnyl 3 times a week for 4 months (when they thought he had a hormone issue reducing his sperm to zero) and never broke one. He broke a couple with his man hands and muscles though That was not the best time in our lives, I mean ever given hormone shots to your DH. Bl00dy hell. I know why women get the shots!!!!

Dancing - you are right the counselling brings up things that make things worse at times. Counsellor asked me if I had thought about the worse case scenario on Friday, that may explain some of the spiral...the rest of it is anger at not being able to cycle with all of you guys, and my body not having clicked back in. I dont like waiting...

GirlX - I am definitely the same re being a fertility charm for everone around me. Three babies born to friends this month, another 6 good friends pregnant. All of them "easily".

    Enough from me.

And K'iesha - I NEED TO HAVE A PERIOD SOOOOOOOOOOOOON, ACTUALLY MAKE THAT NOOOOOOOOOW! Packet of Escort Red on the end of it for you!!!!!
