    I was going to post exactly the same question this afternoon! I'm all out of ideas for after school snacks! They eat 2 serves of fruit at school already, and they are pretty fussy with food, so it's a struggle to think of new things.
    They usually have crackers with/without cheese, yoghurt, sometimes more fruit. That's about it!

    OJ and me- I love that idea with the rolls! Do you bake them with filling in, or do you put filling on after they're heated?

    I don't have school aged kids but some ideas:

    -toast/muffins with whatever spread they like
    -boiled egg and soldiers
    -Homemade sausage rolls (pack them with grated veggies and lentils )- you can freeze them in a huge batch then take as many out each morning as you will need in the arvo
    -in winter my mum would make a simple soup twice a week: chicken and sweet corn, pumpkin, tomato or mixed veggie. She would leave the pot in the fridge and we could help ourselves to a cup after school.

    DS (8yrs) always has something pretty substantial. He is normally pretty hungry after school. Things like party pies and sausage rolls are easy! Zap in the microwave for a few minutes.
    Today he had 2 ham and cheese toasted wraps.

    Default what do you give your school kids as an afternoon snack?

    We have dinner at 5 so not much, fruit/carrot maybe some yoghurt. They have afternoon tea at 2:30 so he isn't usually that hungry.

    Usual things both the boys eat after school are

    * veri deli crackers with an individual little tub of light Philly cheese (they hate the prepackaged cr@p 'cheese' and crackers)
    * yoghurt top muesli bar
    * sultana muffins
    * apples (what is it with kids and apples!)
    * a whole carrot dipped in hummus, surprisingly they came up with this one on their own!
    * Cruskit with vegemite or peanut butter

    I don't usually cook for an afternoon snack, but occasionally I'll make them a toastie ham and cheese or something.

    We usually have either fruit, cheese and biccies, muffins or yoghurt. Once or twice a week if I'm at the shops, I will get finger buns or doughnuts.

    Default what do you give your school kids as an afternoon snack?

    Popcorn
    Sandwich
    Fruit
    Dried fruit and nuts (usually brazil nuts, they love them)
    Cheese and crackers
    Olives
    Toast
    Yoghurt
    Something homemade- today it was pikelets. I usually have homemade biscuits of some sort in the pantry so they can have a couple of those if they like.

    Usually whatever is left in his lunchbox or fruit/pretzels/yoghurt. I never make an arvo snack though. It's always something I can grab.
