    Default my stupid job lol

    I work for a fairly BIG company but at one of their smaller divisions... I have about 6-7 weeks left before I go on mat leave as I am 26 weeks preggers. Now I have just been told today that our dept is closing down- there is about 4 of us here- the casual has lost his job, the two other girls are moving downstairs but they don't really have anything for me as I am leaving soon anyway! I have the option of travelling to the new site- umm like 2 hrs away from where I live no thanks- or they will try to find me "something" here till I go on leave or I can take leave early. I am pretty annoyed! Feel like 4 years of working here is down the drain! When I come back from Mat leave I have the option to go to the new site full time- no part time available. Umm- HELL NO. and this from a company that likes to pretend it has family values.. So what should/can I do?

    Stay where you are and make them pay you for doing something or nothing. If you need to, get a doctor certificate to explain that you can't travel that many hours/day to the new site. It's all pretty sh1t...I hope they decide just to pay you for the next two months and send you on your merry way.

    They cant tell you now that you can't return part-time. Look under the flexible working arrangements section of the FWA site....

    And they can't force you to start your leave early - 6 weeks is the earliest so I would think that if you have to start leave early they should be paying you....
